Hartford Bridge Club
Present: Lou Brown, Libby Pearl, Tom Gerchman, Marge Lennon, Linda Star, Bill Watson, Tom Gerchman, Larry Wallowitz, and Donna Feir, Club Manager, Partab Makhijani Secretary’s Report: Accepted. Reg Harvey will post the minutes to the Web after they are approved. Treasurer’s Report: Accepted. The deficit for the past 12 months is approximately $8337.00.
Manager’s Report: 1. The table Count for September, 2009 was 690.5; in September, 2008 it was 689. 2. There are 35 tables for the Annual Meeting on October 25, 2009. 3. Donna thanked Hoby, Partab and Linda for their participation during the year.
Old Business: 1. Long Range Growth Committee reported to the property owners that we have no desire to acquire the facilities next door at this time. A. Linda and Partab were asked to remain on this committee in order to provide continuity. B. It was suggested that if the equity drops below $50,000 for two consecutive months, there will be an automatic increase of $1.00 per person, but if the equity decreases due to a non-recoverable event, then the Board may consider increasing the fee sooner. C. The possibilities for expansion are ongoing and will be discussed at our next meeting.
2. Bob Gruskay agreed to be the Publicity Chairman 3. Bill Watson was thanked for his wonderful job for Mike Lawrence’s
lectures. Out of the
New Business: 1. The Directors’ Recommendations will be discussed at our next meeting. 2. If a director is teaching a novice class with four or less students, the 10% fee would be waived. 3. Good and Welfare: A. Linda was thanked for bringing in the tasty apple cake.
