Treasurer’s Report: Accepted as read.
Manager’s Report:
1. The paid members count is 407 up from 394 last month.
2. There were 640 tables in November. 614 tables was the top
number in any previous November.
3. Susan Seckinger did a draft memo listing points to be
considered when a club member requests a particular directional
seating, i.e., north/south or east/west. The considerations are a)
physical need b) balancing the game c) player preference. A member’s
preference must be requested one half hour before game time.
4. Jean Coppa will be in charge of the Para-player program. She will be asked to post the monthly Para - player calendars in advance to help members see when they can sign up to cover.
Old Business:
Marylin reported on the planning by the Committee for HBC Day at
the Boston Nationals in November, 2008.The following are in
discussion;
a. A game named for a person has a cost. A game
called HBC would not have a cost.
b. Need lap tops for audio visuals about HBC on
HBC Day.
c. Is there a need for a bus from Hartford to
Boston?
d. There is a need for more volunteers.
e. There is a need to generate more interest and
participation on the part of club
members. f. There is also a need to
generate money for expenses. Ideas for the latter included:
Special games in which table fees would go for HBC Day expenses
Bridge bucks as raffle or giveaway.
Joy Bacci would like to see something done for 299ers.
New Business:
1. Nancy Krech will begin to send e-mails to club members
informing them of illness of other members.
The next HBC Board meeting: January 10, 2008 @5:45
Respectfully submitted,
Valerie Orefice
